Square Dancing

The town of Schroon Lake hosts Wednesday night square dancing (COVID permitting) that draws in locals and visitors alike with live music and live callers. Make sure to make an ice cream run to Stewart’s after dancing ends for the full experience! 

Mount Severance

Beginner hikers, joggers, and hikers with dogs will enjoy Mount Severance, a 2.4 mile hike with panoramic views of the Schroon Lake region and nearby Paradox Lake.

The Seagle Festival (formerly known as the Seagle Colony) hosts world-caliber vocalists each summer for the oldest vocal-training program in the United States and puts on productions and cabarets ranging from 42nd Street to La Bohème for packed audiences each summer. 

The Strand Movie Theater

The Strand Movie Theater has been operating its single screen since 1937. The movie changes each Friday, the popcorn is always fresh, and seeing a movie feels like experiencing a piece of history.
